Warren Beatty is an American football player who is taken to heaven before his time, however he cannot go back into his own body as it has been cremated. He goes into the body of a millionaire whose wife (Dyan Cannon) is trying to kill him whilst he falls in love with Julie Christie who is campaigning against his company.
