After his marriage proposal is rejected a man (Harold Lloyd) attempts to commit suicide but is saved by a lawyer who wants him to marry his client (Mildred Davis) so she can inherit her estate. The catch they have to live in the house for a year but their rivals pretent to be ghosts to frighten them away. This is an entertaing farce with a plot that has been many times since.
