Comment/Synopsis

This is the classic second world war prisoner of war escape film that is as well known for its theme music as for the film itself. Steve McQueen created two iconic scenes in the film. One with him being in the cooler throwing a ball continuously against the wall and the other was him escaping on the motorbike. Charles Bronson was the strong silent character as the claustraphobic tunnel king. Richard Attenborough is the British character who has a the plan and drives everything forward. The film is absed on the book by Paul Brickhill.
