A journalist is at a restaurant with several local chefs and restaurant owners when he dies as he is about to reveal something. A celebrity chef is teamed up with a detective to investigate the murder. This is a standard made for television murder mystery of civillian teaming up with the police. This is the first of a series of Gourmet Detective films, though this one is better in that it has more of her family and his assistant giving more depth the story. Dylan Neal and Brooke Burns are fine as the sparring amateur and professional having to work together.
