A newly married couple agree not to buy anything on credit but when he (John Fraser) gets a promotion and bonus he buys his wife (Eileen Moore)a fur coat on credit. She is jealous of their friends who have furs and car on credit. He does not tell his wife it was bought on credit and gets himself into trouble when he cannot make the repayments and tries betting on horses and borrowing from the company. This is a low key British film showing the dangers of credit in the 1950's but also the benefits to being honest in a marriage.
