Comment/Synopsis

Third James Bond film. Sean Connery is sent in search of gold that went missing in the second world war and uncovers a plot to steal all the gold from Fort Knox in America. This film has some iconic Bond images including the Aston Martin DB6 with the ejector seat and the girl who is killed by being painted with gold paint (Shirley Eaton). Honor Blackman gives a good supporting role as the wonderfully named Pussy Galore. With Goldfinger there appeared the fantastical spy thriller parts of Bond, rather than the more cold war Bond. Goldfinger was very influencial on the making of the rest of the franchise.
