A happily married musician (Michael Denison) joins the RAF in world war 2 and after crashing in Italy he is rescued by a woman who he falls in love with. He returns home to his wife (Dulcie Gray) and starts to write an opera but he struggles with the two women in his life. This is basically a love triangle with British 1940s reserve. At the time the film and music was popular, but otherwise it is a run of the mill love story.
