An overworked father who is having problems with his marriage finds an old box and releases a genie (Melissa McCarthy) who helps him sort out his life and family relationships. This is a light magical comedy written by Richard Curtis, which is funny in parts though it is not one of Richard Curtis's best scripts. Melissa McCarthy does though bring some lightness and energy to her role as the genie.
