A woman who runs prostitutes and bootleg alcohol in San Francisco is forced to give up her son who eventually becomes the district attorney.When her partner is arrested and threats to real who her son is she kills the partner and condemned to death after being tried by her son. The plot has been used before but this is well told and is supported by a good performance from Ruth Chatterton
