Stan and Ollie are in France and Ollie has fallen in love with the hotel owner's daughter. The problem is she is married, so they enlist in the Foreign Leigon only to discover her husband is a soldier in the legion. As with other of their later films there are some good jokes and comic scenes and other parts are less so. There is a good supporting role from Jean Parker as the love interest.
