An army private (Dick Powell) in Hawaii falls in love with a general's daughter (Ruby Keeler), but as she is already engaged they break it off, but meet up again a few years later when they are both involved in putting on a musical. This is the 5th Powell / Keeler combination though unusually she had no dance numbers. This is a pleasantly entertaining film even if the plot is predictable.
