An Italian gangster on the run in London hides out with a journalist in an abandoned theatre. The gagster is planning his escape to Italy with a sulty night club singer and the reporter is after a story. Chance leads them to involve an innocent young boy with tragic consequences. This is a dull British drama, that is very wordy and most of the characters are not particularly pleasant. Simone Silva brings some elegance and light relief in the two songs she sings. This is of interest to British viewers to see Sid James in a dramatic role, playing an Italian, when most viewers are used to his comic Carry On roles.
