A ventriloquist takes some gems from China to America to be sold but ends up dead in a trunk and the gems missing. Ellery Queen (Ralph Bellamy) is brought in to investigate with the help of his secretary (Margaret Bellamy). There is entertaining interplay between Ralph Bellamy and Margaret Lindsay and support from Anna May Wong as the Chinese link.
