On their wedding night a man (Fred MacMurray) tells his wife (Claudette Colbert) he has bought a run down chicken farm. Whilst he is keen on the move from city to country she is less impressed, more so when her husband attracts the attention of the attractive farmer (Louise Allbritton) down the road. Whilst the charactrs and situation are now dated, this is still an entertaining comedy of a move into rural life. The best performance comes from Claudette Colbert showing off her comedy skills. There is good support from Louise Allbritton as Fred MacMurray's temptress. Marjorie Main's and Percy Kilbride's characters as Ma and Pa Kettle let to spin off films featuring their characters.
