An airline pilot (Richard Widmark) is dumped by his girlfriend (Anne Bancroft) who sings in a hotel bar and meets up with a woman (Marliyn Monroe) who is babysitting for a couple in one of the hotel rooms, but she turns out to be mentally unstable. This is Marilyn Monroe in a dramatic role and she does manage to carry it off. Richard Widmark is quite bland in his role and this is the first film role of Anne Bancroft.
