A young man is being forced to marry by his uncle and has to pick a local woman but instead decides to trick his uncle by prending to marry a lifelike doll. The doll is in the image of the doll makers daughter and she prentends to be the doll. Ther film has a range of playful comic scenes as the viewer knows the doll is really the girl even if the man does not. The highlight of the film is a wonderful performance from Ossi Oswalda as the woman pretending to be the lifelike doll.
