In the early 1800's in a small village in Kent smuggling is organised by the local vicar and hidden by stories of ghost riders. When a company of revenue men arrive in the village they start to reveal past histories relating to a pirate and his daughter. George Arliss is good as the priest with the past as a pirate and Margaret Lockwood as the young woman being wooed by two suitors who is unaware who her real father actually is.
