Comment
A spaceship lands near a remote Scottish hotel and a Martian woman comes out looking for men to help repopulate Mars. This is not an action sci-fi film but is a contrast between the Martians using technology and fear to get what they want and thee earth people thinking for themselves and showing love and sacrifice. Patricia Lafffan is good as the stern and menacing leather clad Martian with her powerful robot and dramatic entrances through curtained doors. Tthere are good supporting performances from the rest of the cast including Hazel Court and Adrienne Corri. The film is based on a stage play which does leave it wordy in places. The only real problem with the film is the robot which is really bad even for 1950's sci-fi films.
