A famous racing driver (James Cagney) takes his younger brother (Eric Linden) under his wing at the cost of his relationship with his long term girlfriend (Ann Dvorak). Meanwhile his brother marries her best friend (Joan BLondell). This is a mix of car racing when it was very dangerous, sibling rivalry and romance. James Cagney is good as the hard bitten racing driver with good support from Ann Dvorak as the girlfriend he rejects but still loves him, and Joan Blondell as the woman who falls in love with the brother. The plot is not great but the racing scenes are good and evocative for the period.
