A Russion countess with no family or passport stows away in the cabin of an American diplomat. This is more of a comedy of errors and a bedroom farce than a romantic comedy. The dialogue is not great and not as witty as could have been. Both Marlon Brando and Sophia seem strangely cast although there are a few good scenes. This was Charlie Chaplin's last film and comes across as a filmed play. Although Chaplin and Brando respected each other careers they did not get on well during filming.
