An aspiring politician (Preston Foster) gets elected as the local mayor on a campaign to rid the town of corruption, however the people behind the corruption are also the people who were behind him getting elected. When he refuses to do what they want, they using increasingly violent methods to try and persuade him. The highlight of the film is the performance of Evalyn Knapp as the ever present secretary.
