A retired thief (Chester Morris) is falsely arrested for stealing a statue and killing a man. The plot is not great as the killer hides the body in the fake statue that they have swaped for the real one. Blakie tries to clear his name and help the woman who was selling the staue but things are complicated by the interferance of Blakie's ex-girlfriend (Joan Woodbury). The mix of crime and comedy does not work well in this weak entry in the Boston Blackie series of films.
