Comment/Synopsis
Conan (Jason Momoa) is an ancient warrior whose family (Ron Perlman) is slaughtered when he was young and then as an adult he goes out seeking revenge but has to battle supernatural forces as well. This film replaces any plot or character development for sword fights and battle scenes with an almost unrelenting string of violence. Morgan Freeman's narration seems out of place with the feel of the rest of the film. The earlier (1982) Arnold Schwarzenegger version has better acting which is saying something and it was a sword and sorcery fantasy with some lighter moments, but this is just unremitting violence.
