A woman (Jessie Matthews) in need of a job manages to become a model in an advertising agency. She is nearly run over by a wealthy man (Michael Redgrave), who instantly falls in love with her but pretents to be poor and he gives her an assumed name. Meanwhile a titled woman (Mary Clare) is setting up her daughter (Margaret Vyner) to marry him for his money by telling the press they are engaged when they are not. The plot is nonsense with scenes that are random to the plot. Opera singing with a madman (Francis Sullivan) in a field! The film is carried by an energetic comedy performance from Jessie Matthews, though Michael Redgrave is less convincing. Alistair Sim has fun as the unemployed communist happy to sell himself out to the the capitalists and Margaret Vyner and Mary Clare give good support as the scheming women.
