Comment
This is three Stephen King stories linked by a cat. In the first story, James Woods is introduced to an organisation that has an unusual ways of getting people to stop smoking as his wife finds out to her cost. In the second story a rich gambler discovers that an ex-tennis player (Robert Hays) is having an affair with his wife and makes him an offer he can walk round the outside ledge of his penthouse appartment. In the third story the cat helps a little girl (Drew Barrymore) who is being terrorised by a monster that comes in to her bedroom at night. There is some black humour mixed with the horror and suspense and an unusual device of using the cat to link the stories. There are good performances from Robert Hays, a young Drew Barrymore and a strange little creature. There is also good use of the song Every Breath You Take in both the first and third segments.
