When a rich man dies he leaves a will to be opened 20 years later and the potential inheritors arrive at the spooky mansion to have the will read. The woman who inherits must prove she is sane otherwise it goes to one of the others. The inevitable spooky andd scary events start to happen. There is a good performance from Laura la Plante in the lead as the frightened heroine and the film has some nice use of creative lighting, esecially the use of torchlight. Better than some of the later remakes.
