A banker (Larry Keating) who is having his gold shipments stolen decids to build a railway and employs a maverick engineer (Randolph Scott) to build it for him. However the men doing the hold up are also running a fake mine and will do anything, including killing to stop the railway. Randolph Scott does what he did well as the rugged hero, but he was getting a bit old for bar fights by this stage of his career.
