A teacher on her way to a school in Transylvania releases a man shackeled by his mother only to find that she has released a vampire. As he starts to cause terror to the local women, Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) arrives. This is one of the best of the series of Hammer horror films with good performances from Peter Cushing and David Peel against a backdrop of some nicely designed sets. This was the first of the Hammer films to have female vampire.
