Comment/Synopsis

A woman rules her deranged family in the 1930's and they survive by crime and murder. The film is violent and unpleasant. Shelly Winters gives a good performance as the matirach doing anything for her boys. Three are also small early performances from Bruce Dern and Robert De Niro.
