A mine owner who killed his former partner is killed when he finds a black doll on his desk. The daughter (Nan Grey) gets her private detective boyfriend (Donald Woods) to helpsolve the murder despite the presence of the bumbling police. This is a poor version of the isolated house murder mystery. There are many better versions with better plots and scripts.
