During World War 1 a soldier (Victor McLaglen) in the Black Watch is sent to India, instead of the Western Front, on a secret undercover mission to stop a rebellion being led by a woman (Myrna Loy). The film follows the exploits of Victor McLaglan in Britian and India with a sub plot of the Black Watch fighting in France. This was director John Ford's first full length sound film and does suffer because of the lack of experince in using sound. This has led to very stilted dialogue particularly from Myrna Loy and Victor McLaglen, who both went on to give much better performances.
