A newspaper reporter (Robert Armstrong) whose drinking is affecting his marriage to a rival newspaper reporter (Carol Lombard). He is investigating a drug dealer who also runs a speak easy, but when the editor of the newspaper is murdered he is the chief suspect and it is estranged wife who has to prove his innocence. This is an uninspiring early melodrama that has a very slow first half but does have an early performance from Carole Lombard.
