This is a very brief adaptation of the Ben Hur story based on the Lew Wallace novel. The chariot race was run using four chariots. The film is notable for being the first film involved in copyright infringement. it led to the ruling that the film rights of a novel still in copyright must be obtained before commissioning a screenplay.
