A Saloon owner (Randolph Scott) with a past but now supposedly going honest comes up against crooks and his former girl friend (Gypsy Rose Lee). This is a curious musical comedy set in the Canadian gold rush that has very little in the way of plot. THe best part of the film are the Technicolor costumes. Randolph Scott is typically himself but neither Gypsy Rose Lee or Dinah Shore are particularly good actors. DInah Shore can though sing and her song Sleighride in July was nominated for the Best Original Song Oscar. The film is only notable for being one of the few Techicolor film made in world war 2 and one of the few films made with Gyspsy Rose Lee.
