A couple on their honeymoon are befriended by a painter who then comes to visit them when they return home to England. However she has a murky past and he has an ulterior motive to befriending them. Margaret Lockwood gives a good performance as the black widow who is being followed by an insurance investigator and a good supporting role from Anne Crawford as the husbands ever attentive secretary.
