Three young women who work at an upmarket beauty parlour have designs on improving themselves. However their plans are not straight forward as one has an affair with an older man, one with a married and one gets pregnant. This is a good satire on the class system as still found in the 1930's, that is both entertaining and poignant at the same time as it explores a range of marital and extra-marital relationships. This is a gem of pre-code film making with good performances from Madge Evans and Una Merkle.
