This is one of the classic heist films that set up the standard plot for heist films. A crime boss puts together a team for a jewel robbery. The job starts well, but things unravell with the various double crosses between the people involved. Whilst this is mainly a heist film it does have elements of Film Noir as fate intervenes in the outcome of the robbery. This was the first major role for Marilyn Monroe.
