Comment/Synopsis

In the 1860's a widow (Irene Dunne) takes the post as teacher to the wives and children of the King of Siam (Rex Harrison). The lead characters clash over the differences in culture as Irene Dunne as the Victorian woman challenges the values and culture of the King. Irene Dunne gives a good performance in the lead as well as Rex Harrison as the King. The same story was used as the basis for the musical The King And I.
