A notorious gunfighter (Lou Diamond Pillips) takes refuge with a Quaker family after he is injured. As he recovers he and the daughter (Deborah Kara Unger) of the family fall in love with each other despite their completely different backgrounds. Whilst he is trying to reform, his past catches up with him as another gunfighter is on his trail (Luke Perry) as well as a US Marshall who wants him for previous killings. The is a good remake of the John Wayne versionwith solid performances from Lou Diamond Philips and particularly Deborah Kara Unger as she struggles with her pacifist faith and her feelings for a gunman, even if he does seem to be reforming under her influence.
