A widowed woman Lynn Bari) hears the voice of her dead husband and gets drawn into the sphere of a fake medium (Turhan Bey) but there is a surprise for both of them. Her sister (Cathy O'Donnell) is initially sceptical but then gets drawn in by the man. The first two thirds of the film is all about Turham Bey and his assistant (Virginia Grey) manipulating the two women to convince them that they are seeing the dead husband. The last third has the unusual twist that makes the film intriguing.
