Comment/Synopsis

When a young woman's fiance is killed in an accident she gives up the chld she is expecting for adoption. Several years later, on a trip to France she meets a man who falls in love with her and also meets her child. She is then torn between the two. Whilst there are parts of this film that may offend modern sensibilities, this is a good film from the late 1930's, not least because of the performance from Barbara Stanwyck that combines comedy and melodrama. This is basically a remake of the earlier Gallant Lady.
