A man (Clive Brook) is at an English country house weekend party when his wife (Ann Todd) says she will leave him as he is having an affair (Marharetta Scott) and then he is accused of cheating at cards. When rumours start to circulate about the accusation of cheating he charges the other men with slander. This is a staid English film reflecting the class values of the period.
