Michelle Yeoh is a Malaysian actress who trained as a ballet dancer in England but an injury prevented her from continuing this as a career. After winning a beauty contest and then was signed up to appear in a commercial alonside Jackie Chan. This led to her appearing in several marshall arts films. Police Story 3: Supercop being a good example of these where she performed all her own stunts and fight scenes. Tai Chi Master was the film that brought her to the attention of Hollywood having previously been working in Hong Kong. Her first western film was the Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies. She was the first of the stronger female Bond characters. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragonis her most well known film and was a return to a martial arts style of film also with a different slant to her earlier films. After this she worked in China and in Hollywood. SUnshine was her first sci-fi film. Crazy Rich Asians was a move into what is essentially a romantic comedy. Everything Everywhere All at Once is her most critically acclaimed film. She is married to the former motor sport executive Jean Todt.
