A former singer (Maureen O'Hara) confesses to killing her friend (Gloria Grahame) and successful singer, but her manager and the investigating detective do not believe her story. The truth of their friendship and their intertwined lives is revealed in flash backs. Due to all the flash backs, the story line does get convoluted but there are convincing performances from Maureen O'Hara and Gloria Grahame.
