During World War 2 a cargo ship containing cases of whisky runs aground on a small Scottish island. The local have to get round the efforts of the British home guard in their effort to liberate the whisky from the ship and avoid the customs and excise men. This is an entertaining comedy with cultures and manners from the 1940's. It is loosely based on a true story and a remake of the 1949 version which is different and also entertaining.
