Title: The Wandering Image aka Das Wandernde Bild
Colour: Black and White / Silent
Director: Fritz Lang
This is Fritz Lang's second major film and the surviving prints are missing some reels of film. This detracts from the film as does the the surviving print having Portugese inter-titles. The lead woman (Mia May) is chased into the Bavarian mountains by her abusive ex-husband and meets various people who help her. The film shows some of the skills that developed in later films from Fritz Lang, with some good scenes and cinematography and some of the religious overtones. This is worth watching if you have an interest in early German cinema and one of the great exponents of the making of silent films.
