A fictional account of the rivalry between the older and younger Strauss's during the writing of the Blue Danube Waltz. This is a stange film that really does not work on any level. The comedy, drama and romance are just not convincing and Jesse Matthews is miscast as the love interest. The best performance is from Fay Compton. Alfred Hitchcock described the film as one of the low points in his career.
