Comment
The three musketeers (led by Matthew Macfadyen) aided by their new young recruit (Logan Lerman) travel from France to England on a dangerous undercover mission to recover the Queen of France's (Juno Temple) diamonds that have been stolen by the treacherous Milady de Winter (Mila Jovovich) as she plays off the French cardinal and the English Duke of Buckingham (Olando Bloom). This is a curious version of the story. On one level it follows the basic story quite well, but it has some strange parts including the use of flying air ships and ninja style fights. It also falls between an action film and a comedy. The acting is not great considering the ability of a nimber of the actor and the CGI work tends to detract from rather than enahnce the production. Ironically the most entertaining performances came from the supporting roles (James Cordon and Gabrille Wilde). If you want to watch an entertaing version of the story then the 1973 version is still the best.
