A scientist and eco-warrior (Val Kilmer) and co-workers (Anne Marie DeLuise and John Callender) discover a mammoth in a remote part of the arctic that has thawed out near their research station. However it contains a deadly parasite that transfers to a polar bear and then to one of the scientists. Then his daughter (Martha MacIsaac) arrives with a a group of students (including Steph Song and Aaron Ashmore) and the parasite starts start infecting them. They have to decide either to quarantine themselves or potentially spread the a parasite across the world. If you ignore the attempt at an ecological message this is a good monster attacks an isolated group of people film that deals with the psychological effects rather than the gore.
