Arnold Schwarzenegger is a cyborg who is sent back from a future where machines have taken over the world in order to stop a child being born who will become the leader of the human resistance. He has to kill Sarah Connor (LInda Hamilton), but Michael Biehn is the resistance fighter who is also sent back to save her and her unborn child. This is a violent sci-fi thriller that is known as one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's best, and contains his classic line "I'll be back" although it is as much about the development of Linda Hamilton's character from waitress to resistance leader. This is a good Sci-Fi film from James Cameron. It is also notable for changing the cinema robot into the android, that is giving the robot a human form although it reflects Fritz Lang's Maria in the 1927 Metropolis. It also starts to question the rise of computers and machines and our reliance on them.
